Family accommodation in Bangkok near SiamNear the end of a month-long trip we will have just 1 night in Bangkok -- arriving at Don Muang but flying out the next day from Subharnavumi. Given the quick turnaround we were thinking of staying near Siam, so we can take the Skytrain to the airport. Despite the number of big-name 4-star places in the area, I can't seem to find one that has enough beds for 4 people in 1 room (family of 4). There are a few that can add ONE bed for outrageous extra costs, like an extra $40 (not even including breakfast). The kids are teens so cannot squeeze into "existing bedding." Can anyone recommend a hotel in the area that has rooms with 2 double beds? With a pool if possible. It doesn't need to be anything super special. Just convenient and with a pool. And preferably under $100, though we can go to $150 if we have to.

2You could get two cheap hotel rooms. If you can't trust your kids alone in one room stick one adult in each room. Even hotels under 1000 baht a night have A/C, private toilet, TV, clean sheets and towels. Millions of tourists stay in cheap hotels with air conditioning every year.
As far as food goes there are many cheap restaurants. Malls have food courts too. Fast food places to eat at such as McDonalds and KFC for the kids. Unless they are different than other kids. You can buy sandwich items at a supermarket and make your own breakfast if needed. At Suvarnabhumi the Magic Food Point (food court) is cheap. Located on first floor and open 24 hours a day. Airport Rail Link final stop at Suvarnabhumi is not far from this food court. The Airport Rail Link starts running at 6 a.m. No city rail service between midnight and 6 a.m.
Get two rooms here. Walk to Airport Rail Link in 5 minutes. This is the Pratunam area. Walk to shopping, etc. Makkasan Inn.
Get 2 rooms here. Florida Hotel. Right at Skytrain and Airport Rail Link stations.
It's only one night!

3OP, Skytrain doesn't go anywhere near either airport. Closest to DMK is Chatuchak, closest to BKK is Udom Suk
For BKK by train you need SARL from Phaya Thai or Makkasan or several other fairly central stops. Runs 06.00 to 24.00 give or take a few minutes.
Or take taxi direct from DMK to Silver Gold Garden Hotel near to BKK and get a free transfer to airport next day - their prices so low you can afford two rooms @ 600 per night each, and it's an interesting local area.
