Skopje, Prizren & 3-day Albanian Alps TourHi. I’m going to Macedonia, Kosovo and Albania in September. I’ve done a lot of research but there is a lot of conflicting information on websites, the latest Balkans LP is from 2009 and none of the In Your Pocket guides have been updated for a while. So… I’m was hoping that somebody who has been to these places recently might be able to help me.
1. Skopje – Prizren Bus: What are the departure & arrival times and how much does it cost?
2. Prizren: I’d like to spend 1 day exploring the surrounding area. Are there any companies I can book a tour with? If not and I do it independently, can you recommend where / what to see and give me an idea of public transport options & times?
3. Tirana – Skopje Bus: What are the departure & arrival times and how much does it cost?
Finally, I'm doing this http://www.outdooralbania.com/tours/experience-koman-and-rural-valbona-by-ferry tour starting in Prizren (but you can also join in Tirana on the same day) on Sunday Sept 8th. It includes 2 nights staying in and around Valbona with local families (home-cooked food), a day's moderate hiking in the Valbona Valley and a 2.5 hour ferry ride on Lake Koman (which from what I've read is spectacular and a bit like the Norweigan fjords). The tour finishes in the afternoon of Tuesday 10th Sept and costs 150 Euros. Including me, 3 people have booked so far, but they will only guarantee departure when they have 4. Does anyone fancy doing this trip with me?

1I will do the same trip more or less. From Skopje to Prizren there is one bus daily, at 11,30. Otherwise you have to go to pristina then Change bus.
From prizren you can enter Alabania And go to Valbona, but skipping Lake Koman ferry: this ruote start from a place near Shkoder in the other direction

2I went from Skopje to Prizren about 3 weeks ago and there are 2 busses daily one at 11 or 1130 and one at 4 or 430. Sorr, ccan't remember. On Sunday, there is only one at 4pm.
From Prizren to Tirana, I got loads of different information... And ended up at Prizren bus station with them saying no bus or wrong time. I ended up getting a shared taxi, which wasn't that bad consider there were no stops and only 4 passengers for 13 or 14 euro.. Direct from Prizren to Tirana.
All the guys hang out t the bus station and will find you before you find them! Easy and fast!

6There's a newly updated Tirana In Your Pocket guide out this week.
Pristina-Tirana buses don't always stop in central Prizren - contact the offices in Tirana/Pristina to find out if they perhaps stop along the ring road. Otherwise in the Balkans there's always another solution at hand, as carafa said, and locals are usually friendly and helpful :)

7Hi everyone. Sorry, I've been away and only just seen these replies. Thanks very much for this info - much appreciated!
I actually AM staying at City Hostel, so I'll ask about tours - how lucky is that?!
The tour I am doing with Outdoor Albania has had some more bookings since I posted and is now guaranteed to depart - if fact it might even be full!
So the only thing I need to sort out is getting back from Tirana to Skopje. I've been told there is a bus at 18:00, but I think that will get to Skopje around 1am, which is not ideal, so maybe I'll see if a shared taxi is viable.
Thanks again guys.
