Zurich to MilanHi everyone,
I'll be arriving in Zuirch at 8:40am on a Sunday morning and taking the train to Milan that same day. I have a few options and I was wondering what you would recommend.
There are several trains that leave Zurich Airport between 10:02 and 10:47 which would allow me to arrive at Zurich HBF at 10:59 to catch the 11:09 train to Milan Centrale Do I have enough time to clear customs and make it to HBF by 11:09? This would allow me to arrive in Milan at 14:50.
The next best option, imo, is to take the 11:43 train to Olten and then catch the 12:59 train to Milan (I have 21 minutes to connect, which I am guessing is lots of time). I would arrive in Milan at 16:35, or nearly 2 hours later than the trains connecting through HBF.
Regardless of which option I choose, will I need to purchase my tickets in advance or would it be easy to make a decision once I arrive in Zurich. I'll be flying with United, so who knows whether we'll be on time!
Thanks in advance for your input.

1You can sometimes get reduced fares in the web. But these tickets are not refundable if you miss your train. Therefore it's better to buy a ticket after your arrival ,at Zurich airport railway station.
Zurich isn't a big airport and immigration procedures usually don't take much time.
If you are not in a hurry, you may also take any train to Berne (every 30 min, for example ZRH dp 9.40 - Berne ar 10.58), put your luggage in a locker and stroll through the medieval city center of Berne (Unesco site), beginning just a few steps from Bern railway station and board then the 13.34 train to Milan ar 16.35. You can buy all the tickets you need for that at Zurich airport railway station.

3If you travel on a Sunday in August, you are right. The change from train to bus at Iselle di Trasquera (small station) is very easy: the buses are waiting a few steps from the train. At Domodossola, the bus stops in front of the railway station, almost at platform 1. You have then most probably to go down the stairs to the subway and up again to platform 2 where the Milan bound train stands. The arrival at Milano Centrale is sheduled at 17.10
ZRH dp 10.47, change at Zurich HB
ZRH dp 12.47 (or earlier with a stopover at Lugano) - Milano Porta Garibaldi ar 17.21, change at Zurich HB and Chiasso
