Looking for a pristine beach in the wilderness in VirginiaHello,
I am heading to Virginia this summer for 3 weeks, including one week along the coast. I visited Virginia as a child 30 years ago and remember being on a a pristine beach in the wilderness with little crabs runnign all over... but the memory of the location faded away.
I am looking for a place to camp in a place of that kind, or in a campground located near such a place. I have absolutely no interest in staying in Virginia Beach or any place filled with people, shops and concrete. Any suggestion?
Thank you in advance for your advice

2I typed a reply and when I hit post it disappeared, so I'll keep this short:
1) Back Bay NWR/False Cape State Park (south of VA Beach). Camping, but there is no water at all available.
3) The Barrier Islands (only by sea kayak/boat, probably no camping allowed) Most owned by Nature Conservancy (Virginia Coastal Reserve)

4I spent time during summers as a kid here.
Not necessarily "wilderness," but it's a very rural area.
