Mediterranean Holiday in Mid-SeptemberHello All
I'm looking to go on a beach holiday in mid-September along the med. I have been looking at staying in a Villa in Plaka, in the Chania Region in Crete. From what I have read it seems like the surrounding area is not touristy with an okay selection of local restaurants and cafes, but still not too far to drive to Chania and Rethymnon. Another thing that I am looking for is temperatures that are around 30 degrees and based on a bit of research it seems that Chania would still get these temperatures in mid-September.
Hopefully this gives some indication of what I'm looking for in a holiday and was hoping that I could get a few more suggestions of places I could go as alternatives (this doesn't have to be a Greek island - France, Spain, Malta, literally anything). So basically: (a) temperatures around 30 degrees in mid-September; and (b) in an area that is not too touristy i.e. still has an authentic feel but not too far from areas with restaurants, cafes, etc.
Thank you for your help.

Temperature is a fickle thing. It changes from day to day and from year to year. Looking at statistics won't tell you what the temperature is going to be this September. It might get up to 30, it might get higher, but it can just as easily be lower.
Regarding the Plaka area. It's a corner of Crete that seems to have a lot of villa rentals, and doesn't attract the mass tourist crowd. But I wouldn't go there if the idea of local restaurants etc attracts you, because local restaurants are everywhere. There's nothing special about Plaka in that respect. If you stay there then you'll have to drive every day to get anywhere. If you're OK with that, then it won't be a problem.

2Thank you for your input.
Does anybody have any suggestions regarding the question I proposed in my above message. Like I said, I am looking for somewhere along the Mediterranean in mid-September that averages temperatures of 30 degrees Celsius and isn't in an area that is too touristy.
