wine lovers - Stellenbosch or Fransshoek or both?We are travelling to SA in January, 2014 and we are wine lovers. I need advice on whether we should stay only in Stellenbosch, stay only in Fransschoek, or split our time between both. In total, we have 5 nights in wine country which is split up with a shark dive and nights in Hermanus in between.
In other news, we are also spending 7 nights in Capetown, and 2 in Hermanus for shark dive, so if you have any other advice, please feel free to add:)

1as a place, i personally like stellenbosch a lot, and franschhoek not that much. stellenbosch is a very old town, with beautiful buildings, churches, a big university, with a good atmosphere. franschhoek is (for me) a very touristy place, with "fake french atmosphere", "french" restaurants and cafés etc.
with 5 nights (which is a lot, and i do love wine) in the wine country, i would not spend 5 nights in the same place. also, apart from stellenbosch and franschhoek, look at paarl, durbanville and constancia. in all those places (and / or the surrounding areas) you can find great wine.
i would spend 2-3 nights in central stellenbosch, and 2-3 nights in a hotel / lodge that is located outside of any town on a wine farm.

2Not to contradict the response above, but I liked Franschoek more than Stellenbosch (stayed in both). That said, they're both lovely and not that far apart if you want to stay in one and drive to the other.
Other advice: personally, I was bored to tears in Hermanus and glad I only spent a night there. I'd say scale it back to one night for your shark dive if you can, and use the other night somewhere else.
