Any road status update for Kinnaur landslide sections??hi,
I'm planning to cycle the Kinnaur/Spiti route next week, starting from Shimla, but David Cook reported on 14 Jun the road beyond Kalpa was damaged by massive landslides (see his post here, http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/page/?o=1&page_id=330234&v=2A ).
Anybody has any latest update on that road status?? is it passable now?
if the road is still blocked, is there any bypass that I can take without back track all the way back to Kumarsain/Narkanda continue north on route 11?
I notice there's a route MDR28 from Rampur to Banjar on google map, but not sure if it is cycle-able or not. anybody has any info on this route?

1I was just about to post a similar question. I am planning a one month tour through Himalayan valleys of Himachal Pradesh - starting from Shimla to Kinnaur, Spiti, Lahaul, Pinn, Parvati from mid August to Mid September... I know nobody can predict the road situation there during monsoons, but I'd like at least know have the Kinnaur roads damaged in mid June cloudbursts been put in order

3Just spoke to a friend in Kalpa,...Road open till Nako... is getting opened to kaza...should be open in the next couple of days... says ok for cycles... there is another road - the old hindustan tibet road, that goes high up in the mountains from kalpa - jangi - spello.. but not sure on its condition as its not used for motoring... the last cyclists who have been there were http://pikesonbikes.blogspot.in/
and don't limit yourself to the highway from shimla to tapri.. there are some beautiful alternative routes.
Shimla - mashobra - bhaikalty - narkanda - baghi - sungri - bahli- taklech - darangati - kinno - sarahan - tapri - urni (a very quiet peaceful route) i did it last year and it was the best ride. from urni you can take the old hindustan tibet road to roghi and then to kalpa ( i didnt do this part as i was feeling a little bit weeker but the pikes reported that it was nice)
