Gorom-gorom in april / may / juneHi all,
I'm hoping to find myself in or around Burkina Faso around April or May 2014. With this being the hot season, does the Thursday market in Gorom-Gorom still operate (and at a level of activity that's worth visiting)?
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me :)

3Thanks, I know it's something to be mindful of, and I'll see by the time I get near Burkina Faso what the actual possibilities at that point in time are.
But if the market is (near)dead during the hot months, that would take away one major reason to even think about going up North. Does anyone have a clue?

8I may not be quite the answer you need but I was there in march last year and it was certainly worth visiting. The government travel warnings mean that there are hardly any tourists but its not the kind of market which relies on them. The livestock market wasn't as busy as I imagine it could be but the market, whilst not massive is certainly everything you'd expect from such a place, with lots of ethnic groups, sights and smells. If LP allow such things heres a link to my facebook page with a photo of it https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=206919539466878&set=pb.203557126469786.-2207520000.1375722858.&type=3&theater
