UK Citizen Visa & documents for BelarusHi, apologies if this has been asked a hundred times, but I'm still not clear on a few things:
I'm a UK citizen who wants to visit Belarus as a tourist for around 3 days in August. I will be travelling alone, flying into Vilnius and taking a bus to Minsk.
I obviously need a visa, but do I need anything else such as hotel confirmations, tourist vouchers, letters of invitation from anyone, Insurance etc?
Is this a feasible itinerary? I.e Fly to Vilnius with Visas & documents all sorted beforehand, then turn up & buy a ticket same day to Minsk? I will be returning the same way three days later. Is it just as simple coming back the other way?
Many thanks for your help. I'm looking forward to visiting, but don't want to get turned back as soon as I get to the border!

1Obviously it wouldn't harm to read the Belarus Embassy website in London with some answers to these questions.
1. You might also consider taking a train into Minsk (there are several daily options including high-speed 3 hr trains).
2. You need all that to get a visa - hotel booking confirmation (issued scanned and sealed by the hotel) or an invitation from a travel agency.
3. Quite possible why not. Apply for a visa at home and it will work allright.

3No worries and I do realise that the Embassy website is not the easiest good-night reading) Note that the nights confirmed by the hotel or hostel (if at all their confirmation is accepted by the consulate) will be your visa term, totally up to 10 days long. With the invitation - a more expensive option - the visa term can be up to 30 or realistically up to 15 days long.
