latin americanwoman traveling alone!Hello everybody
I am going to India in August for 18 days. As I am travelling alone I am searching on the net for some package tours, I ll arrive in Bangalore so I would like to know if you can recommend me some safe and serious travel agencies.
I would like also know what you places are the most interesting to visit. I am most interested in temples and wildlife....
If you have some ideas and recommendations it would be fantastic.

31) Beware of touts offering their unapproved, certainly dodgy services on this thread and particularly lonesome males tryin it on. It.s a mistake to advertise yourself as a solo female - you are just inviting trouble.
The vast majority of posters do not use travel agents but travel independantly.
Hampi is the backpacker Mecca in the area.
The obvious trip woud be firstly train or bus direct to Hospet, for Hampi then perhaps Hassan for the nearby temples, then Mysore - but use the bus. Thet trip will take you 10 days - you could also include a trip down to Kochin for the other half of your stay.
But buy yourself a guidebook - it'll save you loadsamoney and reduce hassle..

4So say I arrive in Bangalore. I looked up the distance from Bangalore to Hampi and it's 353km or 5 hours and 48minutes in travel time. Am I looking at the wrong Hampi in India? When I look up Hampi and Mysore in relation to Bangalore on googlemaps, both are in completely opposite directions.
I know one day on a bus isn't long to travel? Are there trails in Hampi?
I'm planning on going to Bangalore, but I'll only have 5 days. I think Mysore and the Shiva Temple by the mall look interesting with maybe a daytrip to the park.

No, that's the right Hampi.

Yes, that's right.
I really don't know if the national parks are accessible in the Monsoons.
I'd also recommend Hampi.

I would like to recommend South India Voyages, who has some experienced drivers.
We did our voyage in November 2012. We had a wonderful trip with them.
We are french couple, we arrived at Chennai and depart from Bangalore.
Mr. Murugan, arranged us a wonderful trip. He suggested a suitable program for us.
You can also get the details through the email: firstname.lastname@example.org

12It's a pity that one cannot ask for recommendations here anymore without being asked to take care and not to trust anybody - which obviously shows how often this great forum was misused for such things! I like to go through the forum threads when I plan a trip, click on the links that people give in their experiences and also ask directly for hotels, tour organizers etc... a shame!
But, original OP, even though people are right to warm you, a single female traveller, of those who would be more than happy to join you, I want to tell you that you will surely meet wonderful groups of travellers in budget hotels for backpackers and the such whom you can join without danger! There are a lot and we should just keep some common sense when considering such offers!

Thanks for the recommendation Ameita. I live in France.. I will search that agency
samanthaindia, thanks for being positive. Lots of indians have told me not to go alone, because according to some of them it is not a good idea to be alone.... As you say I have to be careful and I hope to meet some tourists with whom I could spend nice time.
