19shouldn't you be singing, 'how many roads' given that we're all about the travelin here?
couldn't be without my camera. how often do i flip back through those photos and remember people, places, foods, smells, craziness...
i'll need those photos when i'm old, to remind myself why i haven't got a fat pension.

21"How many roads most a man walk down
Before you call him a man ?
How many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand ?
Yes, how many times must the cannon balls fly
Before they're forever banned ?
The answer my friend is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind."
Digital Dementia? (Not in this one - yet!)

23Oh, I remember standing in Plaka, in Athens, when it was a higgledy-piggledy collection of houses, restaurants, bouzouki places, sitting on a wall singing Donovan's lovely song ...
We stood in the windy city,
The gypsy boy and I.
We slept on the breeze in the midnight
With the rain droppin' tears in our eyes.
And who's going to be the one
To say it was no good what we done?
I dare any man to say that I'm too young,
For I'm going to try for the sun.
We huddled in a derelict building
And when he thought I was asleep
He laid his poor coat round my shoulder,
And shivered there beside me in a heap.
We sang and cracked the sky with laughter,
Our breath turned to mist in the cold.
Our years together numbered thirty,
But our eyes told the dawn we were old.
Blue moon hanging in the sky,
Won't you look down what's happening here below?
I stand here singing to the flowers,
So very few people really know...
Now, of course, Plaka is all nicely 'manicured'. Ah - I miss the old days, don't you?

24haha! thanks go2.
i only have folk singer hair, not repetoire.
i like to buy a local sim card when i'm travelling. i find local people are a lot more helpful when they know they can call or text me for almost nothing. in slovakia i used to leave my details with the tourist office and then explore while they found me a bed to sleep in. much nicer than hanging around breathing down their necks. people with uk numbers had to sit tight.

28actually, i do have a cell off contract, cost me 25 quid. and amazingly, it takes photos and plays mp3s. in theory it goes online and does facebook, but it's painfully slow. i had to use the FB once in a social emergency, and it took 15 minutes to track the people i needed to find out where they were.
