Manali to Leh travelHi,
I am planning to make a travel from Manali to Leh, somewhere around 1st week of july. I would have loved to travel by motorbike, but given that I don't know how to ride one, I am thinking to travel either by bus or hire a taxi.
Can anyone give a good idea about the two viable options ?
If any travel group you know that is already making a trip at this time and would allow one more joinee, I would prefer to join, considering it will be more economical.
Thanks and Regards,

I am considering that too, but what @vistet just mentioned about the Bus service is also exciting.
I am planning to take 10-15 days of break(10 for sure) for this trip.
And right now, I am in the initial stages of planning, so if you have any pointers about places to see and visit, please share.
Thanks and Regards,

5When I was young enough to handle it I did the bus. It was a grand adventure. Now I tend to a bit less struggle. But, I commend the young:). The big drawback of the bus was I got to see achingly interesting sites as we drove by them in the bus..
Note that Vistet is by far the authority on this route..

9I'd advice against doing the above itinerary. Doing it the opposite direction , with the day visits at Gulmarg , nights in Kargil & Leh before taking on sleeping at 4500+ meters and the 5000-ish passes between Leh and Manali, is a lot more comfortable and safe option.
