Kebler Pass/CR12, Colorado is Now Open!Kebler Pass/CR12, from Grand Junction to Crested Butte, Colorado, is now open for the summer season. It connects Paonia, Hotchkiss, and other western slope Colorado communities with Crested Butte. Kebler Pass was originally used by ranchers to herd their sheep and cattle to the railroad in Grand Junction. The fruit orchards farmers of the western slope were likewise able to transport their produce to the interior towns along Kebler Pass and to Crested Butte.
There are beautiful lakes and wildflower areas along Kebler Pass. It is a well-graded, gravel road, but it is not necessary to use 4WD vehicles.
