2 weeks in Madagascar - Transportation and suggestions pleaseHello fellow travel experts,
Recently, I had this unique traveling oportunity at a 60% to travel from Lisbon to Madagascar which I just couldn'tmissing since its a country that always fascinated me. So, I bought the way I like it, impuls..not looking back.
I will be arriving to Antananarivo with a friend in the 22th September at night and leaving on the 5th of October at 1am so this leaves us With 13 nights / 14 (12 full) days. Were are conscicous that this is not a lot of days for a country like Madagascar but it was our last period of available vacations and hell... Better than nothing right?!
We know we can't go too much low pace and calmmly on such a short period but we have experience on the move from a travel last year around India and the Rajasthan area. The plan is: explore the capital city/markets/culture and food, explore and maybe spend a couple of nights in a natural park to enjoy the best of Madagascar:nature and also..although not our style..this time we would love to have some days at the beach and just have a try on thoose delicious Indic waters.
Roughtly: 3 nights city, 2nights park and finish with 5nights at beach (left 1st and last night out since we wont be doing probably much and another one in case we spend traveling from X to Y)
The ideia for what ive consumed for the past two days would be: Tana, Andasibe/Mantadia national park and either Ille Saint Marie or Nosy Be ( we prefer the last one because there seem to be more options for excursions and do a little bit more nature).
I really need your opinions and if this is do-able. We could solve it by land from city-park and then do a foight between tana and nosy be for example...but guess what.. The prices of Air Madagascar became quite the unexpected surprise being the flight tana-nosybe-tana almost the same price as lisbon-paris-tana-paris-lisbon. Having this in mind we were thinking going by land to the north, but it seems to have some kind of dangerous this days and also takes a hell lot of a time. This is not that bad for the way up considering we maybe will have the chance to see madagascar virgin landscapes, but not so interesting on the end of the vacations to come back to Tana.
Can you please give me more insights and sugestions? A better way to plan this? Which is the quicklyest land way to Nosybe having confort in mind and maybe a stop on some place on the way for 1 night. I mean even if it gets more expensive than taxi brousse i guess it wont ever be as expensive as the flight.
Thank you very much for taking your time to read this rather large message. Looking forward for your opinions.
