Please, stop the madness!I'm not referring to the insane plague of bugs which has once again made the site nearly unusable over the last few days.
I'm taking about the ridiculous, insulting, incredibly poorly thought out "filter." As anyone in there who's been paying attention knows, it's broken, it doesn't work, it constantly blocks posts with NO objectionable content while letting actual profanities and spam through with ease.
Kill it; kill it with fire, or make whoever wrote it up in 10 minutes of their "spare time" take it down. It's insulting to the community, to the forum, and to the programmers. We're not at the Beeb anymore; most adult forums allow at least a little bit of salty language these days, but if that's a major pearl clutcher in there, fine, then add THOSE WORDS to the filter. Having it block completely legit posts for the dozens of innocent words which it tends to get stuck on is just plain counterproductive and a real slap in the face for people who take time out of their day to answer travel questions and keep this place alive (which is becoming increasingly difficult lately considering the recent hostile changes and myriad technical problems).
Fix this problem. It's embarrassing, it's wrong, and it needs to go.

4I tried many times yesterday but even though I continued to sign in (after the system told me I was signed in) whenever I would try to post I would get bounced back to the sign-in page. Since we are given the option of signing in with a Facebook (if you say that work in France is sounds like the French for 'face of a goat' so it is often laughed at for that reason) account, should you have one.
I, for one, do not wish you appear on Facebook, and certainly not to benefit TT or LP. If LP doesn't want to run an independent forum them they need to make that clear.
I will now try to post this and if unsuccessful, I have already copied it and will post it on another forum for the record.

6"Please note, your topic will need to be approved by a moderator before it will be posted in the forum"
Got hit with this again today, whilst attempting to provide some completely harmless assistance to a new user. Stop treating us like children! Faced with this nanny-style moderation there's a lot less incentive to participate in this forum lately. No wonder so many people have left.

9I just wrote a post asnwering someone's question about when they can see a(n American) football game (see here, post #10). All I wrote was who was playing when along their route, yet somehow the filter decided it should be moderated. No swearing, no questionable terms or phrases.
Please end this bs. It's worse than the search function.
