Sicily: Lipari and Etna.Hi fellow travellers.
A group of friends are gonna be travelling around Sicily this summer (Palermo, Taormina, Ragusa and surroundings, Enna, Syracusa, Marsala and back to Palermo).
Apart from the main landmarks, monuments, duomos and so on, we have two questions: is it really worth getting the ferry to go to Lipari, one of the Eolian Islands? I heard the beaches up there are not that good.
Any beach recommendation around the Island? Preferably, sandy and blue waters (Ibiza, Sardinia style) if such a thing exists in Sicily.
Any sunset chill out place for the last night in Marsalla, considering its located on the Western Part of the island (sort of Formentera, Ibiza, Santorini places ....).
And finally, is it really worth going to the very top of the vulcano? We are considering driving all the way up until we cant continue. Maybe getting the cable car is not worthy as I heard the views are just the same and we can avoid queues and all that hassle.
Hope anybody can helps us.
Thanks a lot.
