Itinerary help Philippines August 2013I will spend some days in the Philippines next august. I'm landing in Manila early in the morning 11th August and I will leave also from Manila 22nd August. So I have 11 - 12 days.
I have thought two possible itineraries:
1. Spending all my time in Palawan, mostly El Nido and Sabang. Because flying in and out of P. Princesa and travel up to El Nido and back will take some time.
2. Fly to Siquijor, spend around 5 days in there and then fly back to Manila and go visiting the Ifugao Terraces in Batad and Banaue.
Considering the weather in august and the sights of both itineraries, for people who have visited this three sites, which one would you pick?

I just spent 4 months in the Ifugao Rice terraces (internship) and i can suggest you not only go to Banaue and Batad - which are both very touristic! if you have the time, go to Kiangan (direct Ohayamy night bus from Manila at the same place where the buses for Banaue are leaving) or coming from banaue, there are Jeepneys and tricycles going to Kiangan starting from Lagawe. in Kiangan there's either a hostel or you can ask at the tourism office to be placed in a homestay, if you wish (tourism is really only starting there, so it would be a good experience). also you could ask to be guided to the open air museum in Nagacadan - a very nice walk through the rice terraces!
tell them, i sent you (the museum was my project...), they will laugh and probably give you a discout :) .
if you like to be in really remote areas, go to Hungduan (25 km dirt road starting from Banaue), there are Jeepneys leaving from Banaue around noon.
have a nive trip!
