Visa on arrival and single entry visaI will be traveling from Mombasa to Dar es Salaam. Online maps show the quickest route to travel from Mombasa to Dar es Salaam is on A14, through the Lunga Lunga/Horohoro entry point. However the Tanzanian consulate website says the only land entry point at which one can obtain a Visa on Arrival to Tanzania is the Namanga entry point. Sometimes consulate information is old. So can anyone confirm that indeed I cannot enter Tanzania without previously obtaining a Tanzanian visa if I enter through the Lunga Lunga/Horohoro entry point?
Also, I know Kenya’s single entry visa allows for reentry into Kenya if going to Tanzania or other countries in the East African Community. Does Tanzania’s single entry visa also allow reentry into Tanzania if going to Kenya or Uganda?

1Yes, you can buy a Tanzanian visa at Horo Horo provided you are from one of the countries that are qualifies for visa-on-arrival. What is your nationality?
Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda honour the EAC reentry provisions for the duration of a single-entry visa, in theory at least. But you may encounter issues reentering Uganda from Tanzania or Kenya. You can try telling the immigration officer that you are entitled to reenter on the same visa but be prepared to buy a new one if he refuses.
Also, I found that three months are not as readily granted in Uganda as in Kenya and Tanzania. I was only able to get two months after a good deal of talking. However, Tanzania and Kenya should give you three months if you just mention it. But make sure the immigration officer writes "3 months" on the visa so you don't have any misunderstandings when you exit the country.
