Driving from Prague to Salzburg....In a couple weeks. Probably going to stay 2-3 days in Salzburg, then drive back to Prague. Just a few questions:
1)Do I really need the international driver's license? (I am an American).
2)Any suggestions on who to rent from in Prague? And should I pay ahead of time or wait until I get there for better deals?
3)Any suggestions on activities/things to see along the way?
4)Salzburg hotel/apartment suggestions?
5)Finally, how/where is a good place to park fairly cheaply?

Yes, you need an international driver's license
Nice hotels in Salzburg are for example NH Salzburg City and Arthotel Blaue Gans (4 stars)
For parking in Salzburg you can use the Park & Ride Stations: http://www.salzburg.info/bdb06_anreise_verkehr/park_ride_folder.pdf
Or you choose an hotel with an own parking
Near Salzburg you can visit the beautiful lake region Salzkammergut (the lake Fuschl is close to the city) and for example the small historical towns Bad Ischl and Gmunden
