Tashkent - worth hanging around?I'm doing an trip around Kyrgyzstan & Uzbekistan in Ocotober.
I finish in Tashkent and have one night there. Is it worth staying an extra day or so to see more of Tashkent, or save the extra day off from work for another trip/holiday?
E.g. I looking at possible trips to Addis Adaba, Beirut, or Moscow, and would it be better to spenf the extra day there or in Tashkent.

3Tashkent is no Khiva, Bukhara or Samarkand for sure but it has its merits.
You could go up th television mast; nearest metro stop is Bodomsor. To get in to the mast you will need to take your passport.
Alisher Park (and the neighbour National Park) are worth a walk around
The metro stations are stunningly beautiful, some say the most beautiful system in the world with many varied styles. Have a look at Google images for the stations. But, you are not to take photos
Chorsu, the old town is worth a visit with its huge market and some interesting mosques and churches.
The area around the government buildings is worth a look (nearest metro Mustakilik Maydoni).
Walk along Zarqaynar Street, not far from Chorsu bazaar, from the Sakichmon Street end. At the end the road opens out into a very attractive vista of mosques, mausoleums and medrassas. Nearest metro, Chorsu
I would say that Tashkent was worth an extra day.
