exploring on a budgetHiiii!
I'm a college student and I will be studying abroad in Paris spring 2014. A few of my friends will also be studying abroad the same time (London, Germany, Ireland, Italy) and we are hoping travel once our programs are all finished. Mine will end in late May and I would like to stay for at least 2 weeks and travel as much as possible. Now, we will be very VERY poor after living abroad for 5 months already, but this summer (actually within the next couple of weeks) we are all meeting up to plan the trip and start budgeting. Anybody have any routes/destinations/trips/ideas/deals/mustsees that they would like to share???? We want to have fun, but we have to be pretty cheap about it.
Thank you! Looking forward to hearing from you !

1Without knowing anything about your likes/dislikes,it is difficult to suggest anything specific.
There are literally thousands of options.
What you CAN think about is...on a low budget, you are better to stay in one geographical area rather than spend a lot of time and money travelling long distances.
And..in general,Eastern Europe is considerably cheaper than Western Europe.

2haha I probably should have included at least some of my interests...
Okay, so as cool as the big landmarks/tourist destinations/historical places are, I'm really not into all of that. I'm not really into the museums or tour groups. I like finding the secret gems in really cool places, or really unique/underground/unheard of/local things. I am very adventurous and will try just about anything (can't speak for my friends, though!) For me, I am very laid-back and go with the flow, so I don't need to keep to a specific plan of events, necessarily.
We will all be 21 years old so really we will be up to anything fun!
When I get together with my friend in a couple of weeks I'll post more specifics, but in the mean time if anyone has anything they would like to share, please do!

3Why not consider going on a cycling trip on the back roads of France? Bring along a tent drink cheap wine and eat out of grocery stores. You'll see small remote places off the beaten track and your money will stretch as far as you can make it. The whole idea is to travel as long as possible for as cheap as you can. What better way then going on a bike and sleeping in a tent? You are young and it would be fun.
