20Calendar Girls used locations from all around the Yorkshire Dales, often in the same sequence..
In Stormy Monday, Sean Bean and Melanie Griffiths look out of a hotel window in Newcastle onto a street parade below them - only the Station Hotel is around five minutes walk away from the street used as the location.
The Jude Law version of Alfie was shot in Manchester, not the States...
And I never knew that Hadrian's Wall was near Nottingham until I saw the Kevin Costner Robin Hood movie... Or that Robin fought Little John at Aysgarth Falls.
Monty Python and the Meaning of Life - Bradford
Carry On Up The Khyber - Llanberis Pass
In the TV series Spender, there's several references to 'Clayton Street Nick'. Having worked on Clayton Street in Newcastle, I can assure you that there wasn't a police station on Clayton Street, although the shop I worked in did loan a couple of rooms to the local Special Branch for an observation job back in the 1980s for a few weeks.
And finally, in World War Z, Glasgow doubles for Philadelphia.

22The Big Blue/Le grand bleu, sort of a drama between two friends who compete on diving championships (too dramatic/soap-y for my liking) inspired many people to visit the Greek Islands too. Many scenes were filmed around Amorgos, an island that only recently started to attract tourist attention and it is still very low key. Due to bad ferry connections and limited tourist infrustructure, visitors headed to Mykonos, Santorini, Paros, Naxos etc rather than Amorgos itsself....

23Seattle, WA - movies Sleepless in Seattle and Singles. Part of Sleepless in Seattle takes place in Baltimore, MD too; Meg Ryan's character works for the Baltimore Sun.
Snoqualmie, WA - setting for the TV show Twin Peaks. Stay in -- or at least have a meal at -- the Salish Lodge, right by Snoqualmie Falls.
Roslyn, WA - served as the setting for the TV show Northern Exposure, which supposedly chronicles life in a small town in Alaska.
You could hit Snoqualmie and Roslyn as a day trip/weekend trip from Seattle.
There have been a lot of TV shows and movies filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, in Canada. It's not far from Seattle (about a 3-hour drive). They include 21 Jump Street, Smallville, and MacGyver, among others.
Portland, Eugene, and other Oregon cities have been in a lot of movies too. While Vancouver is 3 hours north of Seattle, Portland is 3 hours south. Here is a link detailing a surprisingly long list of films from Oregon:

24The other day I caught a 'Murder she wrote' on the TV (yes I know that probably makes me a very sad person) set in Hong Kong, the HK shots were library clips filmed there whilst the acting pieces were filmed in a US Chinatown somewhere - anyway, I though it was quite well done if not totally authentic.
Regarding HK there's also the film 'Contagion' in which one of my pals played an extra just because he was there at the time !
