Myanmar Trip NotesMy girlfriend and I spent a marvelous month cycling around Myanmar (Burma) this past winter. I put together some travel notes with maps for those that might be considering this destination next winter. There is also accomodation information for anyone who might not be traveling by bike but still would be interested in some recommended places to stay.

4GREAT informative post. Thanks! I think we met you at the hotel in Sagaing, glad it all worked out for you.
Would add that there are actually interesting things to see in Myingyan- an old pagoda with Georgian style outbuildings and an embalmed (not quite, he is getting slightly moth eaten) monk, plus a good market on market day and a good small town vibe
Also, there is one good place to eat in Pindaya - a bit hard to spot due no English sign. It's on the south side of the lake near the pagoda- sells strong draught beer , and very good, cheap Myanmar and Chinese food
Ever considered cycling Bangladesh ? great potential though folks like you might find it too flat in places

6Well done. I've always thought traveling by bicycle is the best way to go. You see things almost as well as traveling on foot but can cover a fair amount of ground in a day. Not quite my style but my hat's off to you.
Btw, if you ever try betel nut again try chewing it more slowly and gently. It's a little easier to take that way.
