Travelling throughout Sri Lanka with surfboardsHi
Can anyone offer advise regarding travelling with surfboards throughout Sri Lanka, we have come up with the following itinerary, and are unsure how much hassle it will be carting boards:
Fly in from KL to Columbo end of June (sunday) this year at around 1:00pm, hoping to go to Kandy on the scenic railway that afternoon,
1-2 nights in Kandy, (driver/taxi?) then onto
Arugam Bay for 11-12 nights, down to Yala by taxi/driver
Yala for 1 night, then
3-4 nights traveling west from Yala along the coast back to Colombo (hoping to get some surf along this coast)
1 night in Colombo before flying out to KL
This is our itinerary at the moment, we are open to any suggestions. We have not booked accommodation (other than at Arugam Bay) or transport
We have been advised not to take surf boards, but being keen surfers we want to have the flexibility of using our own boards.
Any suggestions advice would be appreciated.
