most scenic route? munich bern via switzerland or via GermanyI am planning to buy a one country rail pass for Germany. I would like to get max use out of it. I had planned to go from Munich, to Innsbruck, and then through Switzerland to Bern for the most scenic route, but I cannot use the German pass. I am now thinking Munich :Garmisch Partkerchen, to Stuttgart then Basel, because it will all be in Germany, and I can use the rail pass, My question, will I be sacrificing beautiful scenery going this route. I shall be travelling on from Bad Basel to Bern for a couple of days, so I will see a little of Switzerland . I would very much appreciate opinions

2There is plenty of beautiful scenery in Germany (as there is in Switzerland).
You will always 'sacrifice' something..you can't see it all.
Having said that...it is not a good idea to base your trip on where you can or can't go on a railpass. If you want to do a route not covered by the pass, the solution is simple.Don't buy the pass (or buy a different pass as suggested #1).
Personally i prefer point to point..buy as you go.May cost a little more (or may not)but you then have total freedom....

3Lucapal is right; if you do "only" Munich-Garmisch (-to Stuttgart back to Munich) - Stuttgart then Basel.
The ticket will cost you around a 130 Euros or 160 US, so it might be cheaper than your rail pass.
But we might be mistaken and you didn't told us of all your travel plans.
(and it's about the same price for the journey via Innsbruck).
