1Depends what you are used to i guess...its 'winter' of course.
Last time i was in Rio in July it was usually cloudy and rained several times,but it was never really cold.Maybe 20-25Â° or so in the daytime......
For me it was too cold to swim or spend the day on the beach,but again...depends what you like and what you are used to ;-)

2In Rio, it´s very common to see the beaches full of people during Winter, because it almost doesn´t rain during this period. The temperature is very pleasent In August, hot enough to go to the beach, but the heat isn´t unbearable.
Of course you can get a cloudy weather, but it shouldn´t last for more than a few days.
