1First place to come to mind is Isla Larga, departing from Puerto Cabello, Carabobo; the already famous Isla Margarita and Los Roques. Although not exactly an island, La Cienaga, in Aragua, is a special place worth visiting; Isla La Tortuga, uninhabited and not so tourist-oriented but often visited by yachters. ;) Check those out though there are some more!

2if you are traveling alone Los Roques may be boring(and expensive) because there is not much to do and you probably would not meet too many people.
I would recommend going to Chichiriviche, the keys there are fantastic, some with nothing but a couple of palm trees on them, others sport a restaurant. Parque Nacional Morroquoy is right there with mangroves and you can easily meet people in this town. I have not been there in ages. The town itself was not very appealing but there's party and the islands are fantastic. Just take a lancha out to the islands everyday or you could probably find some sort of accommodation or camping on some of the islands.

My favourite is definitely Los Roques.. I go there often to go scuba diving and kitesurfing (the winds are dying down however) and always meet other people. Margarita could be a good option too, places like Playa El Yaque (Kite & Windsurf haven) and Playa El Agua attract visitors all year round.
You also have the option of Choroni in the Henri Pittier National park. Great laid back colonial fishing village where you can get boats out to some really nice beaches such as Chuao, Uricao, Cepe and Valle Seco, among others, not to mention the fact that you can walk to Playa Grande from the town of Choroni itself.
Morrocoy is too very nice, lots of keys and nice beaches, but it does get crowded at weekeneds and really crowded on long weekeends.
All the best,

I am travellin' trough Venezuela around the same time. Plan to start with a trip to the Angel Falls.
Dunno what your plans are, but maybe it's nice to catch up somewhere? To go to the Angel Falls?I would like to try to go to Boliva and then fly to the other site of the tabl mountain. I wrote allready with another girl who is in Brazil now but also will be in Venezuela end of May.
