Mandalay to Bagan to Inle LakeHi gang,
I'm flying from Bangkok to Mandalay on May 11th, arriving at 12:30pm. I'd like to immediately head down to Bagan, spend a few days there, then head on to Inle Lake. Can anybody advise me of the most effective (time-wise) way to get between these locations? Would love any additional info on practicalities (departure times, cost, advice, etc.)
Thanks a bunch!

4As shown above, there are afternoon flight from Mandalay to Bagan, normally depart ( from 3 pm to 5 pm ) to Bagan from Mandalay. It will cost you about 55-60 US$ for flight.
But, there are only morning flight from Bagan to Heho and you can catch overnight bus or morning bus as well to Inle Lake from Bagan. Flight rate would be 85-90 US$ and bus fares would be from 9000 Ks - 13000 Ks.
From Heho to Yangon , there are morning flight and evening flights as well. Bus is also available for that route. But, there is only overnight bus from heho to Yangon.
Flight = 116 - 120 US$ and Bus = 15000 Ks.
Hope above will help to you.

7If you want or can fly from Bagan to Inle Lake you save a day by flying early. I did that in febr this year. dept 07.45 and arr 09.00 (am) with Asian Wings and we had still almost a whole day before us. (85$).
It depends what time and with what airline you go.
In febr I had three morning flights with AsianWings. All departed in time.
In nov I flew Air Mandalay, all three had (long) delays and were in the afternoon. So in november flying took me a day and once arriving in the dark with no transportation at the airport (Mandalay International).
