Is there a Turkey Bus Shedule website in EnglishBeen trying to see if I could find a website on the internet giving bus schedules in Turkey. Does anyone know if one is there? I was thinking of when I leave Amasya I might try and go to Ankara via a day stopover in Sinop. I know I can go from Amasya to Sinop via Samsun and saw on a post if I left Amasya at 8am I could be in Sinop at 2:45pm. I would like to have a glimpse of the Black Sea since I was so close and Sinop sounded like one of the more interesting towns on the coast. So I was trying to find out if there was an early bus from Sinop to Ankara to get me there in time to catch the 7:50pm Mavis train to Izmir with enough time to arrive at the bus station and get to the train station in time to catch the train. It may end up that this is unrealistic and just keep to my original idea of going from Amasya to Ankara with plenty of time to make that train. But the Black Sea is so close.......... Thanks.

2Do you mean you want to do this all in one day?Or do you mean to go to Sinop and stay overnight?I hope it is the latter not the former as that would not be possible. It is 7½ hours on the bus from Sinop to Ankara :)
I guess if you stay o/n just to say you've seen it you may consider it worthwhile...maybe.If so Metro Turizm have bus at 10.30 arriving Ankara at 18.30 but you would need to get your skates on to get to the train station in time.Ankara otogar and the train station are some distance apart.
It is an interesting idea and I understand your thoughts to go there but frankly for,at most a short overnighter,I wouldn't bother, you'd spend longer in transit than at the town!
If you desperately want to see the sea then just go to Samsun. This town has interesting historical connections to Ataturk and the War of Turkish Independence, although it's area history extends back a couple of thousand years before that.

3Thanks for the info on both replies about bus schedule websites and my thoughts on a fast overnight stop in Sinop. I thought going to Sinop would be pushing it so think I will stick with my original plan and just take a bus from Amasya to Ankara. I need to be in Ankara in time for the train as I will be running out of time before my homeward flight from Istanbul and want to have a couple of days in Ephesus area.....that will be the one place that I will be with crowds of tourists so saving it for last after the most important places I want to see in the southeast and east where I will be more with the locals instead of hordes of tourists. Thanks. The Black Sea will wait for another trip, along with Goreme and that mountain with the stone heads.
Oh, one other question......when I am in Midyat I would like to visit Gulgoze. Does anyone know if there is public transport there from Midyat or if I would have to rely on a taxi. Any thoughts on what a taxi might cost. Thanks again. Tom.

4That is probably a wise decision. There are still so many things you won't see this trip so save them for the next one :)
Gülgöze is down a dead end road so there will be buses but I doubt they will be frequent, unlike a village that has buses passing through to other places. It is only something like 5 or 6 miles from Midyat though so a taxi shouldn't be too expensive. This is a Süriyani village and will be interesting for you to see.Perhaps you can do a deal with a taxi in Midyat to take you, leave him with some tea in the village tea house and then wait and take you back again after a couple of hours.
