Live & Work VISA problemsHi guys,
Ive been wanting to Live & Work in Canada for the past few years, but have 2 drink driving offences on my police clearance in Australia that I received when I was in my early 20's that prevent me from getting a VISA.
I was born in England, and have a British passport. Is it possible to get a police clearance from England where I dont have any offences and get a VISA using my British Passport, but enter from Australia?
Im clutching at straws as I really really really want to live in Canada. Does anyone know of any other ways I could get a VISA?
Anything that anyone can help with would be great! Thanks!

4You need to ask a immigration lawyer or find on the 'net whether you still qualify for a "application for deemed rehabilitation".
Having two separate offenses may automatically DQ you, unfortunately. The good news is that the amount of time since both of your offenses occurred helps, a lot.
If you do qualify, then you need to start applying as soon as possible. The more time you let pass, the longer the line is, so get crackin'!

6why do you want to live in Canada? In my part of this vast country we've had snow on the ground for over 6 months now! What I wouldn't give for a warm sunny surf beach. (Yes a day of regrets- wish I had followed up on the great job offer with sponsorship I had in Oz 8 years ago!)
Seriously - look into the Canadian provincial nominee program - it will be cheaper than seeing a lawyer and has VERY good success for people. Visa's are crazy hard to get by anyone!

10In Canada you can apply for a pardon, to get your criminal record wiped clean. Do they have anything like that in Australia?
With a British passport you don't need a visa to enter as a tourist to Canada, but you probably know that already. If you get a job offer, the company can get you the work visa pretty easily.
