Renting a carA friend and I are planning on travelling to Egypt at the end of April, and are considering renting a car for about a week, starting and ending in Cairo.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a good, cheap car rental company?
Also, we are both under 25 - 21 and 22 - would this be a problem for most companies?
Lastly, does anyone have any experience with Egyptian drivers? What's the driving scene like?

1I've usually rented from an international company at the airport via an online booking and searching for the best option. I've never rented from a local company purely to obtain the benefits of renting with the big players like transparency, decent car and knowing what I'm getting. Your ages may be a problem though, it depends on the company.
The driving 'scene' is dangerous to say the least, it has a very high fatality rate. They are often quite crazy and fail to see/understand the dangers of how they drive. In saying that though, it's worth a try and definitely an interesting experience.

4Hi Omun :)
We also want to rent a car , do u have any informations about current safety in Egypt? From what i know already, there might be alot of military checks on the way, and that tourist can forget to drive on their own to Luxor... highh probability that you will be asked to return. However I dont know how much truth is in those stories ...Im very confused.... I remember when I flew to Marrocco, all my friend were so worried, cos it was in the middle of Arab Spring, war in Libya... and Marrocco seemed to be very unsafe. We rented a car , drove through half of the country and never got ourselves in any dangerous situation . But Egypt might be different....
