Visas for AmericansI was in Senegal last year and didn't need a visa. But, recently someone from there told me they are starting to require one from Americans. I've looked online and seen nothing new, but would like info on the current situation. If you are American and have been to Senegal recently, would you please share your experiences in regards to visas?

5I would not count upon getting the visa at the airport if USA citizens are going to be required to get one.
I lead groups through West Africa on our overland truck, and Aussies and Kiwis are required to have their Senegal visas in advance (has been the case for years). Not available at the airport and not available at land borders. And get this....the Senegal consulate in Australia is not authorised to issue visas, so ridiculous! They have to go off to Malaysia.
We were there just 4 weeks ago, and there was mention that Germans and Dutch will soon need a Senegal visa also. So worth keeping ears to the ground or people are going to get caught out if this does come into effect.
