Getting from Venice to Paris Cheap and on timeHello,
I am at venice now, however i have a plane to catch back to Lebanon on thursday the 11th. Plane departs from Charles de gaulle airport in paris at 4.30 PM.
What is the best way to get there on time (2hours before my flight)
I was checking some solutions online, and it seems i can take a train to Milan, and then fly with easy jet to CDG airport, and get there on time. However there are many train stations in Milan, i do not know which one is the nearest to the airport (Malpensa airport)
How can you guys help or give another solution ?
I like venice, and i prefer leaving venice thursday morning, instead of wednesday night.
Thanks in advance.

2Malpensa airport is far from Milan, but if you arrive at the main railway station, Milano Centrale, you can catch the Malpensa Express train to the airport. Look for flights from Venice as well, and also from Verona, I am sure that there are Easyjet flights Verona/Paris CDG. I'd avoid having to change airport in Paris, so don't choose flights to Orly.

3I absolutely adore Venice. But I wouldn't be comfortable waking up so far from my departure city on the day I'm scheduled to depart.
Why gamble, take a chance, tempt fate, whatever you want to call it?
I personally wouldn't consider anything later than an overnight train scheduled to arrive in Paris early in the morning of the departure day. Call me paranoid.
There are worse fates than spending a day--and maybe a night--in Paris.

7Oh Boy. So, for example, here are some things that could go wrong.
You've expressed an interest in flying into Orly. Planes from Milan Malpensa fly directly to CDG. Planes departing from an entirely different airport--Milan Linate--land at Orly. Please look very closely at your reservation to correctly determine your departure airport.
Another reason I hope you decided against Orly: the one daily Easyjet flight from Linate to Orly is scheduled to arrive at 2:20pm. This flight receives a "poor" rating from the FlightStats website for on time arrivals: 1/3 of flights on this route arrive late, with an average delay of 29 minutes (and a recent maximum delay of, well, over six hours). Plus, you'd still have to transfer to CDG, go through security, check any luggage, etc.
There are more frequent flights between Malpensa and CDG--and with better on time stats. But you're still flying on two separate airlines, so you'll still need to collect any luggage, probably change terminals, go through security, and re-check any luggage in time for boarding (which can close anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes prior to departure time). So if you selected the flight that is scheduled to land at CDG at 2:35 pm, you still have a pretty good chance of being unable to board your flight to Lebanon, even if it's still sitting at the jetport.
Frankly, I'm hoping you've selected an earlier departure from MXP. Well, frankly I'm hoping you've selected MXP as your departure airport, period--that's still not clear.
Anyway, that's some of the things that can (and do) go wrong when you roll the dice by waking up on your departure date so far from your departure city. I think I'll stick to my paranoid ways.
