Whale watching - Reykjavik or Husavik?Which is the better place to go whale-watching from? I'm going back to Iceland end of April, and I'll be in Akureyri for a few days, then back to Reykjavik. I went whale-watching from Reykjavik 5 years ago (saw minke whales), and was wondering if it would be better in Husavik?

1Actually I recommend Dalvík Whale Watching, which is close to Akureyri.
Although I haven't done this myself yet, it's high on my list. I have heard great things about it from friends. The focus is on whale watching but after that, the boat stops for 15 minutes for fishing. Back on land, the barbecue is started and everyone can grill the fish they caught. I heard it's a real special, personal experience.
Here is another one with fish tasting near Dalvík:
Personally I have whale watched in Húsavík and absolutely loved it. We had the luck of seeing an Orca up close but there were lots of other whales and dolphins as well. If I had the choice again, I would always choose whale watching in a smaller, quaint location rather than in Reykjavík.
Edit: Sorry, I see these places don't operate in April although it can't hurt to ask anyway. Then I would go for Húsavík definitely.
