Staying in ChaniaI will be going to Chania for about a week at the end of this month April 2013. I have no idea how much money to take for food etc. Can anyone give me prices for restaurant evening meals please? Also, I know I can get a bus from the Airport into Chania - but where does the bus terminate? I am unable to walk too far. Am staying in the Mitropoleos Sq.& Agion Deka area of the town. Many thanks.

1Without knowing what you want to eat for dinner it's not possible to give you an exact price for a meal. Expect to pay between €5 and €50. Grilled fish, chicken and red meat is sold by weight unless priced right on the menu so be sure to ask what the price will be for exactly what you order. Greek Salads go for €4-10 depending on the restaurant. Local house wine is less-expensive than bottled wine. Some restaurants now charge a small fee for the set-up, which includes napkin, silverware and bread. Menus are posted outside so you can see basic prices before you enter.

The airport bus will terminate at the main bus station. You can get off anywhere on the route from the airport. But this is of no value if you don't know where to get off.
A fixed fare taxi to Chania center will cost about €20 or thereabouts. This may be the easier option than the bus (depending on where the hotel is located).
Regarding what things cost , that is a different matter, which the previous poster has more or less covered in general. In the touristy restaurants around the central harbour area you will find 'fixed' meal menus on offer in the €10-15 range lower end. Or you can order a la carte, menus always hanging outside the restaurant. Drinks of any sort will start at €2 or so (tea coffee soda water). Snack food around €3-5 and up.
