Huayhuash circuit in around 10 days - getting to and fromI've been planning a trek around Huayhuash for some time now and I can not find an answer to a few specific questions.
First a little background: I will be in Peru from April 20 until May 5. I am sure I want to go to Huayhuash but I can also clearly see that I will not have enough time for the full trip to and from Chiquian. There will be two of us trekking. We need no guide and mules and want to do it on our own and yes, we have done this kind of treks before, we have maps, food etc. and will certainly manage. We can communicate well in Spanish so talking to the locals is not an issue.
Now the big question: how can me make the trek shorter? My initial idea was to start in Matacancha and finish in Cajatambo but from what I gather these pleaces are hard to get to and from. Any experience with that? With limited time I do not mind paying some extra $ for a truck ride to get to a place. Any experience with getting to Churin, which seems to be another possible exit point?
Any suggestions and ideas will be highly appreciated! Thanks.
