Turkmenistan - Visa Support & Visa ProcessHello,
I am planning a trip to Turkmenistan (in fact I have bought my tickets).
I initiated my visa process and came to know that the Visa Support process for getting a tourist visa is very tough and there is a high probability of rejection.
Can folks please share their visa success experience? Which travel/tour company did you use?
Some tour companies are suggesting that I apply for a transit visa. However, I am flying directly into Ashgabat via Istanbul and fly out the same route. Hence, technically my trip is not a transit trip. I am not sure if I can get cheeky with a transit visa.
My trip is very short and is only 5 days long,
Will be very helpful if I can get to know some guidelines that can help me avoid getting rejected for the visa support letter.

I am at the moment in the same situation of planning a (short) trip to Turkmenistan. For your plans I do not think you can get a transit visa, so a tourist visa is the only option.
Getting the tourist visa is pretty much only a matter of money, since you will have to book a "tour" or at least a guide/driver through a travel agency. They will provide all the necessary paperwork for your visa and meet you upon arrival in Turkmenistan, so you can enter the country. Outside the capital Ashgabat Turkmenistan requires tourists to be accompanied by a guide at all times.
Do you mind me asking when you will be in Turkmenistan? If it coincides with my trip maybe it is possible to share tour costs and save some money!
In any case I wish you good luck and save travels! :)

3As you say, for a transit visa you need to show an actual transit and you need to provide the points of entry and exit when applying. I believe these details are marked on the visa record (if not on the visa itself) and the border guards will check them.
However, if you remain in Ashgabat you won't need a guide. Perhaps you should look at booking accommodation in Ashgabat with a hotel or travel agency that also offers visa support.

6As far as I know turkish airlines fly to many destinations in central asia, such as Almaty in Kazhakhstan, Bishkek and Osh in the most tourist friendly Kyrgyzstan, Dushanbe in Tadjikistan that is also easy to get visas, Tashkent in Uzbekistan that is also a bit difficult and time consuming for visas.
as far as i know turkish airlines must charge only 60 euros for the change of airtickets.
Is that the case?
have a nice travel.
