Pont du Gard - parking etc

16We got there late in the afternoon (around 1600h I think). When we came back from the bridge at around 1700h the museum was free to enter and the booth issuing tickets at the carpark entrance to pedestrians and cyclists was no longer open. So I suppose pedestrians and cyclists are free to enter afterhour. If you arrive at around 1700h, you can also enter the museum for free.
They still charge parking afterhour though.
BTW, lone pedestrians and cyclists are charged 10 euro each.

17thanks for getting back to us for this update (especially since the news haven't spread to all languages of the official Pont du Gard homepage...).
though I can somewhat comprehend that sooner or later this measure would be taken, it's a bit sad that the possibility to explore this site freely has been curtailed.
