Is it possible to hire a car one-way from Bangkok to Singapore? My friend and I were originally considering driving from India to Singapore. Having discussed this on the India forum, I now realise this is impossible! As is any plan involving driving through Myanmar.
So... instead I thought we could hire a car in Bangkok and drive down the coast to Singapore, leaving the car in Singapore at the end.
Is this possible? By some amazingly remote chance, are there any car hire companies in Bangkok/Singapore that do this?

2Maybe, if you have plenty of time and money. Not to mention monkeying around with the paperwork for crossing borders with a rental car. Have good insurance!!! You will need an International Driver's License too. I think you have to pay for someone to transport this car back to Bangkok because it seems unlikely that there will be another tourist who wants to drive to Bangkok around the same time you get to Singapore!
This is not something you do to save money it is more something you do on a lark.
Trains do run from Chiang Mai to Bangkok. From Bangkok to Hat Yai and on to Malaysia. From Malaysia to Singapore every day.
