June 24th in Quebec City or Montreal?Which is a better city to spend time in on 24th June St Jean Baptiste (Quebec National Day)?
I had planned to be in Quebec City on 23rd June and travel to Montreal on 24th June.
Heard the Giants Parade in Montreal on 24th June is interesting. Maybe I should travel to Montreal on 24th June morning in time to watch the parade.

1There is certainly plenty to do in Montreal; here is a good guide to last year's activities http://montreal.about.com/gi/o.htm?zi=1/XJ&zTi=1&sdn=montreal&cdn=citiestowns&tm=23&gps=334_8_1280_613&f=00&su=p284.13.342.ip_p554.23.342.ip_&tt=3&bt=3&bts=6&zu=http%3A//fetenationale-montreal.qc.ca/
Usually there is a big concert of folk and modern music and culture in Parc Lafontaine which goes well into the evening. That's where to wave your national, i.e. fleur de lys, flag. And yes, you can also practice your French which will be the language of all the proceedings. I don't know about Quebec City other than entertainment is a prime activity there too.

3I think your plan (Québec 23rd and Montréal 24th) is good.
In the last few years, the big celebrations were on the Plains of Abraham in Québec city on the 23rd and a great spectacle in Montréal on the evening of the 24th.
At the end of May, do a search on the celebrations schedule for this year and you will have a better idea.
There is also a lot of regional celebrations and activities.
