Amalfi Coast traffic?Hello,
My wife and I will be driving from Sorrento to Palinuro, via the Amalfi Coast and Paestum, on a mid-week day in late June. If we get an early morning start out of Sorrento do we stand a decent chance of avoiding the worst traffic? We'll stop to snap a few photos along the way, of course, but probably won't stop for long at any one place and we'll probably just skip the more popular towns along the way. Just how early should we think about leaving out of Sorrento if we are to avoid bumper to bumper traffic?

3Thanks, regards. Your response is actually helpful and corresponds to what I am already able to determine from Google Maps; what I am really asking however is around what time in the morning should I leave Sorrento if I I want to drive The Amalfi Coast more or less straight through to Salerno without getting caught up in lots of traffic.

4I have no idea about how early in the morning start the heavy traffic or will be ending in Sorrento. Probably between 7 and 9 in the morning. Normally I would start at 9am , making maybe a stop in lunch time somewhere to reach the destination in the afternoon. That would be 3-4 hours first part, 3-4 hours last part of the trip and give you time for photo stops on the way. Even if you leave earlier one moment of the day you will be in the rush hour and who knows today if there is somewhere street work. An alternative is if you split the trip in half along the coast, half by motorway to win a little bit of time.
