double your recharge to your friends in Cuba March 26 – 29.

If you wait you can double your recharge to your friends in Cuba March 26 – 29. The amount you send from outside Cuba will be double courtesy of Fidel and Raul

Sorry, I am really not "au courant" on this subject, so got some questions. How many different companies can we do this through? If I understand correctly, it is a simple as going to a website and typing in the info along with your credit card number? What exactly is the the info needed? Do you feel safe handing out your credit card number on these websites? Can you send a link to the company or companies that have a website that we can do this through?

There are quite a few. I have been using Ezetop for a long time. Yes, all you need is the cel number in Cuba you want to add the credit to and, of course, your credit card number.

So the offer that Rickie posted about is available March 26-29 through any of the companies on the internet that offer to do this service? Can Cubans in Cuba get the double re-charge in Cuba or is it only available at double for those paying outside of Cuba ? I hope that I am making sense.

For me EZETOP is the easiest to use after your first time. Here is the website …….http://www.ezetop.com/
.
The next time you log-in they have all the info on file and all you need to do is fill in the amount you are recharging to a phone in Cuba and they received the credit in matter of a few minutes and you receive a confirmation by email. The 2 for 1 is only applicable when made from outside of Cuba.
.
This one is for Easter and the next one will be around Mothers Day.
.
Jorge, if you are reading this let me know if you want me to make a deposit of $25 into your phone so in total you will have a credit of $50 and you buy dinner the next time? Like to try the restaurant near your house that Cubans call their kitchen or dining room.

#3 It can only be done through one of these websites. A Cuban walking into a Cubacel office won't get this promotion.

CW there is a raft of such companies see example list below.

People have their own favourites for a variety of reasons including ease of access, responsiveness to complaints for non-connections, sound quality (although I'm personally sceptical that this is provider related) etc etc.

We happen to use Cuballama.

Yes the top- up can be done from within Cuba but as Gres says it has to be done on-line using a credit/debit card. So we have done the surreal thing of using an Etecsa computer to top up our phones whilst sitting 5 meters from the counter where normal re-charges are processed. But I guess that is no different to using a hotel computer to print a cheap accommodation voucher for a price less than the hotel offer as a walk-in rate?

We take throw away phone each on every trip, buy a Sim card and give all away at the end of the trip.

As for credit card security no more or less than the plethora of other sites one regularly shops from unless using a 3rd party conduit such as Paypal.

Top Up Providers
e.g.

www.ezetop.com

www.cuballama.com

www.click2recharge.com/

www.ezetop.com

www.keku.com

Thanks for the info everyone. After many times of being asked to fill someone's minutes up on their cell phone and me grumpily saying " I don't live in Cuba, I don't know what you're talking about, fill up yer own phone", I can make a surprise for someone with this gesture of free call-time.

And since JA named ezetop twice, I will take that as an omen and try that company.

Oops and what's worse I now can't remember which was the site I meant to cite instead of a reiteration of ezetop! Old timers disease indeed!

Paying in GBP, I found hablacuba.com to work out cheapest of the 4 or 5 which I have used. I find their website clearer to use than ezetop. Cuballama have various extras, but I have not managed to make use of the free minutes they gave me.

John - i am not sure what non-connections and sound quality have to do with recharges.(except cuballamas free minutes, I suppose.)

Asd far as I know, all these sites require payment via visa or mastercard.

B as previously ...nor do I. Just saying that I have read many reports of people justifying their pick on that ground!

We seem to have this discussion every time CubaCel has a 2 for 1 promotion. Everyone has their favorites for the cheapest or easiest website to use. The last time Sayeh bought up the subject someone did a comparison and found it’s less than a dollar difference to switch from one website to another, hardly worth my time to do a search for the cheapest provider. I like ezetop because it takes me less than a minute to send the double recharge to Cuba.
