Cheap Accomodation In Wellington!!!!

Hey guys, My girlfreind and I are both from New Zealand, Born and raised in Wellington. We have just got back from 5 months of Travelling around South East Asia.

We have just started out at University, and have a house in wellington, with a spare bedroom. We will be putting a double bed in the bedroom, and basic things like a lamp and bedside table. Instead of getting another person to live permanintly, we decided we will try to get some travellers to stay with us to meet new people, and have fun.

The prices for backpackers hostels in wellington are really really expensive, so we thought we would ask around $160 total per week for the room for 2 people, with bed, internet, power etc. you can buy food and use the stove and fridge/freezer, and you use the washing machine.

The house is about 30 minutes walk from the main univarsity, so it is not in the city centre, but it is easy to get there, its a really nice area and we thought it would be a great way to see the real New Zealand way of life.

We love Music, movies, having fun and being social. Obviously we need to study every now and then, but everyone needs their quiet time! If you like Mountian biking, then we can take you to some of the BEST trails in the world, 10 mintues drive from our house.

Anyway, if you want to contact me, i think you can send me a messege on here, and I will let you know the details so we can organise dates etc. I can upload photos and show where it is in wellington.\

Thanks, Stu and Jess.

The only way they can message you here is to give details within the post.
Or else by methods mentioned in Community FAQs.

The Wellington CouchSurfing page also have a sub-group for flatmates wanted. There and backpackers notice boards often can get short-term flatmates looking for more privacy/space than at a backpackers.

I hope it works well for you and it's back to the future, really. When I first visited NZ around 50 years ago YHAs were often a spare bedroom or two in somebody's house. It worked and was a good system then.
