travels starting AprilHi
I am planning to start my travels at end April. i want to spend 4-5 months taking in as much of SE Asia as possible. my only slight concerns at the moment are the temperatures in April, I like hot weather but i am worried i am being stupid to even consider traveling in this season.
i would be really grateful if any one could give me any idea of how best to play it (sometimes guides can over play it!), maybe there is an ideal route?
Any advice from previous experience would be amazing!

2I would be inclined to go to southern beaches first where at least you can get sea breezes and jump in the water to cool off. As for the interior/north I would check the rain situation and hope that rains have begun to cool things down. It can otherwise be relentlessly hot and exhausting. Once we've had a few decent rains it's usually much more comfortable. Proper rain season usually kicks in sometime in May and is very welcome =)

3So you're starting off from Thailand, I assume? :)
One way to travel is to hop on the train and hop off every point, then board it again, it'll take you across many countries.
Though I think it'll be more helpful if you list what are the key spots you'd like to see, or what do you enjoy doing (tribes? trekking? diving?), then we can come up with better recommendations. ;)

5amazing guys thank you! I need to do a fair bit more reading but i will put together a list of my priorities and get back to you. I was thinking i should maybe start in Ho Chi Minh then travel a clockwise route up through Cambodia - Thailand - Burma - Laos - Vietnam. I absolutely love the coast but I am equally as interested in venturing into the country side / hills.
when the rains start am i correct in thinking that they are generally heavy but short down pours?
