Cancun flights, from Canada, and also return to London, England

Well, I've decided to take that birding trip to The Gambia, which will be leaving from London, England (can you tell I'm Canadian - we have to qualify which London we are talking about!!?!).

I usually head out of Victoria down to Mexico some time in November, and thought I could make a wonderful trip by flying one way to Cancun, spending about a month in that area, to include Merida and the Yucatan, then fly to London in early December, returning to Cancun or Mexico City mid to late December, and continue on to Oaxaca where I have been spending the last 4 winters.

Any flight info or advice for me?

Many thanks.

You can get direct flights from Cancun to London on BA and Virgin. Some UK charters fly that route but I have never been able to book them going from Mexico (only originating in the UK). Cheap options that are non-direct include Condor or Air Berlin (both via Germany).

Westjet has direct flights from Victoria to Cancún. Take a look at their web for info about schedules and fares. It could be cheaper to go changing planes in a third airport though. You could also take a look at webs like Skyscanner or Kayak to see what's the cheapest option they offer. You could look for flights out of Vancouver or Seattle too.

From Cancún to London, I'd suggest to use too Skyscanner or Kayak to see what's the cheapest option for a return flight either non-stop or changing planes in a third airport (play with the dates as some airlines don't fly daily). You could also fly with a charter like Thomson but they aren't so cheap if you need a return ticket although you could take a look to their web to look for fares. If you need an open-jaw ticket outbound: Cancún-London; inbound: London-México, take a look at webs like Kayak, Expedia or Orbitz to see what options they offfer on your travel dates.
