Help! Need accommodation in Havana on Friday!

The hotel I was supposed to be staying at have just told me they are full (booked through Intrepid)
I now have no accommodation for Friday arriving late at night and the usual hotel search engines either all come back that everything is full or just don't deal with Cuba.

Anyone any pointers?

It seems everywhere has a 24-48 hour turnaround to tell you if they are full or not!

try using: www.gocubaplus.net

Hotel Caribbean always has vacancies (google map paseo del prado), in Vedado check out Hotel Vedado.. don`t worry too much, if the worst comes to the worst just ask your cab driver to take you to one of the hotels I have mentioned, those hotels should give you a room at any time of the day or night, or find you a room in another hotel nearby.

CTN will give you immediate confirmation for Havana hotels.

Thanks people - spent hours on this yesterday but everywhere seems to use the same 'booking engine' which just says full.

Back on it covertly as in work today.

The 'live help' on

http://www.cubatravelnetwork.com/

Seems to have saved the day - they can access a 'better' search engine.

They reckoned that there are only 2 hotels with rooms in Havana!

Wont feel completely comfortable until I have spoken to the hotel (they are 4 hours behind) but problem hopefully solved.

Help really appreciated - was not wild about 'winging it' at 22:30 (when we land) with a pregnant wife

We spent hours ringing round yesterday - not sure if its 'the system' but everywhere (even the £200 a night places) were full.

We were getting desperate!

#5 just checked - both the website and the direct email link worked for me.
Hope you find somewhere to sleep!
#6 BTW the CTN is exactly the same as the second link in post #2

OP, FYI, I have reserved and purchased hotel rooms the same day with CTN while in Cuba. They have also provided me with an alternate hotel twice upon arrival if the hotel I booked was full. Both of these were up grades at no additional cost to me.

ctn & spanky are in bed with debbies forum, a good reason to stay far-faraway from them!
