Visa?I applied through https://www.migration.gov.rw/singleform.php since Feb 27. On March 8 I got an email asking me to explain my profession. I put in social worker because I work at a foundation. So I wrote them back and explained what I do. They also asked me which visa number I had on my previous visit. I sent them a picture of my stamp the last time I was there, I got into Rwanda through Uganda about 9 years ago and there was no visa number. I haven't heard back from them since. I will fly into Burundi and then overland to Rwanda - Uganda - South Sudan. I'm leaving Bangkok for Bujumbura on April 5 but I need to buy my tickets within this week so I wonder if anyone's got their request rejected before? Would it be possible for me to just get a visa at the border if I don't hear back from them? Thanks.

1I have applied Rwanda visa umpteen times, and had a few delays and problems here and there. Mostly because they did not get my attachment, I did not attach it or I did not fill the form properly (I did not realise the pop up map in the beginning). However, at the end I always received the visa, and basically it should take only few days.
Your process sounds very strange but I don't understand why you would not get it based on what you wrote. Naturally if you have been attached to an organisation they do not like (Human rights issues for instance), that might be the reason. Otherwise, I would look for a contact number and call them.
You will at least need the track number for the visa at the border, and some border posts are stricter than others.

2Thanks. I do have a tracking number? Every time I checked, it's the same

I don't think that there's any reason why they wouldn't like my organization, it's just about sleep disorders. As a Thai citizen, I've dealt with applying visas hundreds of times because we always seem to need one but never once I had to wait this long!

5Congrats ! I have done it few times that I have used different entry points than is in my visa application. In my experience the reaction depends on the border site and the boss there: in Rusizi (coming from Congo) the guy was barking for one hour but then let in. In Kirundo, the lady said I should have used different entry point (I had read the map completely wrongly) but no probs. In Kigali they don't say anything. Sometimes if you use buses, you also cannot know which route the bus takes, so I would not worry about it. Just have a valid explanation.... :)
