Arriving late in Hong Kong (Around 1am). Cheap way to get into the city??

So I am arriving late into hong kong (flight lands at 1220 but I figure I wont be out until at least 130am) and was wondering what is the cheapest way to get into the main city area (Tsim Tsa Shui area). it says on the website that its on the A21 bus route but I dont think it runs that late. the address is Block D, Flat D2, 6th Floor, 36-44 Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, -, Hong Kong . Thanks!

The A21 runs until midnight. From 12:20 (every 20 mins), you can catch the N21 night bus (HK$23) to Chungking Mansions. Will take around an hour. Get off stop 36 (Middle Rd) and turn left. Chungking is one minute walk.

If the flight lands on time, you might be on the 1 am bus.

I notice that the hostel doesn't put 'Chungking Mansions' in its address, but that is 36-44 Nathan Rd.

There are night buses from Hong Kong Airport (prefixed with N)... so no need to worry about being stranded at the airport.

To Tsim Sha Tsui, try the N21 operated by Citybus. Fare is HKD$23... which is considerably cheaper than a taxi.

There are plenty of night buses to choose from. Sit upstairs at the front and enjoy HK by night!

Word of warning, make sure your hostel is expecting you! A few years ago I arrived around 1am into HKG, got the night bus to Chungking Mansions, arrived at the door to the hostel around 2.30am with my reservation (which said it had 24 hours reception). I banged on the door for about 15 minutes before another guest came out and said that there were no staff here, and no rooms......great. Luckily I found another (more expensive) place on another floor for the night. So, get an explicit email from your hostel stating they'll be waiting for you.

Have you already booked/paid for somewhere in the Mansions? If not, avoid it....it's horrible! Try Dragon Hostel in Mongkok, or the Evergreen Hotel in Jordan.

Is that just a 10% deposit though - if it is, I'd go somewhere else and just forget the deposit. Will they be open when you arrive?
