Fira, Santorini Accommodation Suggestions

Hi All,

My girlfriend and I are in our late 20's are from Melbourne Australia and will be travelling around Europe and have decided to spend 4 - 5 nights in Fira, Santorini at the start of July.

We are looking for some good accommodation and our budget is around 200 Euro per night. We would love to get something a bit cheaper, but from the looks of things it's going to be around this price to get anything decent.

We want a nice view and to be close to be able to walk down to restaurants etc..

Any suggestions?

Also, any suggestions of restaurants, cafes & bars to visit?

Check Scirocco Apartments, Tzekos Villas, Caldera Studios, Hotel Mylos, Villa Maria Damigou, Sunset Hotel and Blue Dolphins Apartments.

The best bars in Fira are Tropical Bar, Tango Bar, Casablanca Soul, Kira Fira, Enigma, Koo Klub, Murphy's and Two Brothers Bar. Beware of high prices for cocktails!

Yes, Maria Damigou is a good budget hotel. I'm not sure that's what you are looking for, though...? See also http://www.kavalari.com/ and http://www.aromasuites.com/santorini.htm , two other family owned hotels.

What I REALLY recommend though is http://www.villailias.gr/ in Firostefani. Villa Ilias is a family owned hotel with lots of charm and very friendly and helpful owners!

Fira in July will be bustling of tourists and Firostefani is a much quiet area , only 15 min. walk to the center of Fira. Firostefani also has most of the best restaurants!
