Southern Thailand in August: Need Recs!
Hi,My boyfriend and I are traveling to southern Thailand in August for 10 days. We are currently interested in visiting Phuket, Koh Phi Phi, Krabi (Railey) and Koh Lanta. We think it would be too much to travel among all of those for 10 days. Can anyone provide recommendations on which of those are the best (we're looking to spend a lot of beach time, snorkel, etc.) and if there are any others we should visit instead?
We are also interested in Koh Samui. We understand that this is on the opposite end. Would it be worth spending half the trip on the west side and then flying over to the east side for a few days? We're scared the weather in August might be bad in the west.
Would love any advice that you have! We are so excited for this trip but at a loss on where to narrow our trip down to.
Thanks!!

With just 10 days I would limit your trip to only the Gulf of Thailand islands (Koh Samui, Phangan, Tao) and I would probably only try to do 2 locations. You could pick one spot on the Andaman Sea side and one spot on the gulf side if you were prepared to fly between them (the ground trip would take a full day of your limited time). However, August is usually the peak of the rainy season on the Andaman Sea so I would just stick with the gulf coast.ADVERTISEMENT
